HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS?
He wasn't tired. He never was. Yet every night he would find himself a place to rest and force himself to lay down, shutting off his mind. It only made sense. All humans had to sleep. If they didn't sleep, their bodies and minde would become weak and sloppy. He could never allow that to happen to his body. If he did, he would surely pay for his mistake. Possibly with his life.
Rayi had slowly worked away. First setting out his sleeping bag, then moving on to make a small fire. He knew fires were risky, but he needed to cook himself something to eat before going to bed. That was another essential all humans required, be they mutated or not. Oddly enough, it was for the very same reasons. Besides, a fire meant warmth, and the weather was particularly nasty. No, it wasn't raining, but frost was still nipping at the air and the cool winds could get right under your skin.
"Canned beans. All we ever have is canned beans." Rayi spoke as he set up his camp. No one else was near by, at least no one that he was aware of. He wasn't speaking to himself though. Well... he sort of was. At least, the voice in his head would answer almost as if talking to him through another mind. 'I like canned beans. Grows hair on our chest.' his mind hummed back, causing Rayi to let out a long sigh. "We don't have any hair on our chest and never did."
'We could. Hey, I thought you weren't going to talk to me anymore. You know, because of the accident' Rayi's mind snickered causing him to shake his head again as he sat down. "I haven't forgiven you. You know what, forget it. I'm not saying another word." He moved on to grabbing a can opener out of his bag, using it to slowly open the can of beans. 'Oh how surprising. I reminded you that you were angry at me. What shall I ever do.' His mind had continued mocking him making the sounds around Rayi just a tad bit harder to hear.
He had already checked the building he was squatting in for feral ghouls and other living creatures. It hadn't come to a surprise when he found a couple ghouls and nothing else. He had also checked the streets surrounding the building to ensure he wasn't going to have any surprises the moment he lit his fire. Now he simply sat in what looked to be an old dinner, hiding behind the counter in hopes it will lower the amount of light the fire cast in the room. As long as no deathclaw or group of raiders came by, he wasn't he would be fine.!
